clipping along we get a flat tire. We looked at it as a learning experience for the boys though and they had their first lesson on changing a tire. Nothing is open when we hit the next city though so we need to continue along in slow speed with the donut spare. We did come across a repair shop after much searching on Sunday morning but it was too late to get us to Vegas on schedule :( We did finally arrive safe and sound Sunday about 9 pm.
After the conference was done we had planned to go see the Grand Canyon. My eldest son was not feeling well though so we let him sleep the day away. I did have an ace up my sleeve though for the next day and luckily he was feeling much better. When I was looking on the map I noticed that it was closer to go to Disneyland in LA than it was to go to the canyon...so with a little persuasion I got my wonderful DH to drive us a little further south. The boys were clueless and thought we were on the way home until they saw the Disney signs. It was great! Although I may have enjoyed myself more than the kids - I was soo excited to bring them as I have wanted to since they were babies and never had the chance. My favorite ride was "it's a small world" and the kids was "star tours". The fireworks show at the end of the day was spectacular, the best display that I have ever seen.

when they were here picking their photos. There were alot of good ones but I will just post a couple of my favorites. They are running away to get married and I am sure they will have a great time. I enjoyed our excursion and meeting the both of you as well as your canine companion :) I am so greatful for the wonderful weather that we had that day!!

I am currently working on retouching Jolene and Fred's wedding pics from the summer - they just came and picked their favorites the other day.
The Kids 'n' Us diabetic conference that I am helping to coordinate has kept me quite busy as well as meeting with some really wonderful couples who are getting married this year and next.
I have Tina and Steven's photos into the lab and will be picking them up on Monday. I remember they had a wonderful ceremony at the school archives building downtown. They included the sand ceremony which seemed to become very popular this past summer. They made thiers unique by including more colors than the typical 2. I think the funniest part of the day was when Tina related the story of how the ladies needed space in
the washroom so moved some of the flowers that were in there. To keep them fresh they put them into the toilet. We went to the Muttart grounds for photos afterward. There was alot of fun to be had with so many of their friends in the bridal party. I thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day and I wish you much happiness in your journey together.

I have just gotten Joselyn and Greg's photos into the labs today. Joselyn and Greg were a very sweet, quiet couple. I really enjoyed working with them as they were quite open to many of the ideas I had...sitting on a bench outside the hotel even though it was pretty cold, hanging out on the balcony...the shots are great and I'm sure all the kissing kept them pretty warm :) good thing I generally shoot pretty quickly. We did alot of warm shots too - inside the hotel and wandering around the citadel. I wish you both a great life together.

Next up for retouching is Steven and Tina.

Last on the retouching list for now is Mina and Kingsley...so far I have gone through my files and there are still 3 couples who haven't gotten around to picking their photos for their packages. I have contacted each of them and they are on the job.
The wedding on Friday was quite lovely. We enjoyed photographing Joselyn & Greg at the Union Bank Inn and then wandering around the Citadel getting our couples shots. Here are a couple of the pics that I like from the wedding, they have so many good ones...

They are going to the lab. Ruby and Mike had a really neat wedding day cause the weather kept changing on us. Some might find that upsetting but luckily our couple was in great spirits and we just used the changes to our advantage. They ended up with such a huge variety of photos it was fantastic. From strolling in the rain with an umbrella to basking in the sun. I love this pic of Ruby
checking her train before walking down a trail. They had two little ringbearers that were really sweet. Omari caught this adorable pic of them looking at some rocks outside the church. I remember that Mike was all about the car - well second to Ruby - of course. So we had to get pics of it for sure. We also stopped in at a local Tims for coffee and well some fun shots along the way to the botanical gardens. Ruby and Mike - keep the love strong, trust in eachother and remember to cherish eachother in your future together. I know you will do great!
Next on the computer is Tanya and Mike...wowee we are clipping along...probably cause I'm not shuttling kids back and forth to school and such...

mic issues...wonder if that is a small reminder to keep the lines of communication open...near the end of the reception we were entertained by a few acrobatic friends...I have to include a small pic to share cause they were half good...Ken was always adding a few "fun" poses into the mix during our afternoon so the variety in their package is neat to look at. I know that they will have a good time in their life together. Much love to the both of you!
Next up is Ruby and Mike.
I have also finished retouching the two portrait sessions as well so now I am down to 3 weddings... almost near the end of the batch...I will work hard this week with the goal to get them done before next week. We have a wedding coming up on Friday, it is just a small ceremony but I know that we will get some great pics as the bride and I have discussed a bunch of ideas already.
We spent the whole day together on their wedding day and I really enjoy doing that because it feels more natural to be able to capture everything right from getting ready. It helps everyone to relax alot more as well because we have met alot of the family by the time we reach the family photos. I remember Sophie and Dwayne had a really hot day for their wedding. This was the first time that my camera equipment ever gave me any problems and I have learnt now that it was the batteries over heating. As soon as everything cooled down there weren't any more issues. I remember going through batteries like crazy and not understanding why because I had more than enough and they had all been charged the night before but because of the heat and use they kept "burning out " quickly. Life is truly a live and learn experience. I guess next time we get above 30 degrees I will keep the extra batteries in the air conditioned car. They had a beautiful ceremony and we got some great photos for them to remember everything by. The reception hall was decorated by a family member and it was outstanding. The evening was quite pleasant and just as every wedding has it's story, well Sophie and Dwayne have a couple of ones that they can laugh about now. It was such a pleasure to be apart of their special day and I really enjoyed meeting these two families. Many blessings in your future together!
Now on to Chrysten and Ken's wedding. I had a lofty goal of catching all this retouching up for the New Years, looks like I am not going to reach that though. 4 weddings and 2 portrait sessions in the line up currently...
