Threasa & Louis

Last Saturday we were able to spend the day with Threasa & Louis. They had a few delays but once the ceremony got started the rest went quite well. We moved on to the Muttart grounds afterward to do our family photos and ventured around for the bridal party and couple shots after that. Louis showed me a great little spot on a hill that overlooks the city - I love the view there! Since this couple have a history with "Wendy's" we decided to stop in for a quick little photo opp before heading back to the reception. Here is a link to the couples slideshow if you'd like to check out more photos. Threasa & Louis's Slideshow.
Thank you to the both of you for including us in your celebration. We enjoyed capturing memories with you and I hope you had as much fun as we did. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow to go through your pics.

Back online

in facebook. I guess I requested too many people to be linked to me...I was messaging past clients and facebook decided I was spamming. That sucked. Well, I'm online there again and luckily I didn't have to start my page over again. So maybe if your in facebook hook up with me instead of waiting for my invitation...

Facebook glitch!

For some reason I have been disabled from using the site. I'm not sure if this is going to disconnect me totally or if I will be able to log back in to my same site again once we figure out the problem. In the mean time I just wanted to let you know I'm not off of there by my choice and if you need to contact me - please use our website or email contact@creationsphoto.com or even give me a call at 710-0012.

Next...

Just a quick post to let clients know where we are in the retouching line-up. I just finished up with Angela and Greg. Had a lab issue with Gerhard and Rosangela's order but that is now fixed up and ready to go as well. Next on the list is Thalat and Alasdair.
Hope everyone is enjoying the heat here in Edmonton...we'll be complaining about the cold again in a few weeks I'm sure :)

E-session

I spent a couple hours with Brad and Anita this past Sunday. We had some fun walking throught the leg grounds, scouting out their church and Brad serinaded Anita in the River valley. We tried to get a good "family" pic with their cat and dog before we left the house, unfortunately the pets didn't want their pics done. I do love this shot of their puppy though. Anita wanted to make sure we got a few "fun" shots so they decided to roll down the hill at the Leg. I think the one below turned out quite cute, even though Brad was not into rolling (it makes him feel nauseous). I really enjoyed hanging out with these two - looking through their photos we got some great images for their engagment book. I look forward to shooting their wedding this fall.

Our garage sale went well and the boys happily sold a few of their toys. Now I just got to get the garage cleaned up again :)
Just FYI - we just booked wedding #84 the other day. Coming up on number 100 slowly but surely...who will be our lucky winner??

Erin & Davin...

This past Saturday was the wedding date of the century. 7/7/7 became one of the most famous wedding dates ever. We shared the day with Erin and Davin. It was a beautiful day for a wedding - the weather was in full cooperation. We travelled to the museum grounds after the ceremony along with alot of other couples. Luckily we arrived in perfect timing to nab my favorite corner for family shots. As we finished up in the corner another bridal party took it over and we moved on to some of my other favorite spots. We ended up with some fabulous photos as you can see here. Of course I have also created a sneak peek slide show with a few more of my favorites as well. I hope you enjoy it....Erin and Davin's Slideshow. Thank you to Erin and Davin for including us in their special day. We had alot of fun working with the both of you.

On Sunday we (my family) went out to Ma Me O Beach for a special anniversary photo shoot. We met up with another photographer who joined us to "trash the dress". What is "Trash the Dress" you may be asking? Well, I came across the concept online quite awhile ago and thought it to be a great idea - contrary to many of my friends whom I have discussed it with. It is when you go out in your wedding gown anytime after the ceremony - be it the day after or in our case 10 years after - and get as outrageous as you'd like in it. There are no limits - no boundaries - cause you really don't plan on wearing the dress again. I love my wedding dress and have only worn it the one time. I have 2 boys and there are no plans to "pass it on" now, besides I remember how fun it was trying on dresses and finding the "perfect" one. I'm sure my grand-daughter will take great joy in this as well. It was custom designed for me and luckily still fits as it did 10 years ago. I was soo excited to wear it again for this photo shoot and as I thought about the fun stuff we could do, Ma Me O came to my mind. I LOVE the shots that we took that day!! It is rare that I like shots of myself but I am very proud to show these off! Omari shot for us - the second photographer that joined us was Mark Pawlyszyn, he was fabulous to work with and even got me talked into jumping off the pier for an amazing shot he took. Here are a couple of my favorite shots from Omari's camera...

What a fun experience this was. I will need to add the trash the dress session to my pricing list and if any of you out there get adventurous enough to try it out...I'd love to be there with you! I must add - contrary to the title the dress is not really trashed at all. Full of bugs and sand but after examination I'm sure with a good drycleaner it is still completely usable. Hummm, maybe it needs some more trashing :P

This weekend is our one weekends off for the summer. Somehow it didn't get booked and I must admit it is a nice break, although the boys have talked me into setting up a garage sale. They are anxious to buy a basketball hoop and I told them that they must pay for it - so there are a bunch of toys being sold. If you'd like to stop in and say HI, I'd love to see you. The address is 116 Warwick Crescent, Edmonton and I'm running the garage sale on Friday and Saturday from 10 am - 8 pm. I also have an e-session that got rained out that I will be shooting on Friday night (Omari will have to babysit the garage sale for me). Looking forward to some good weather....

The retouching list is beginning to grow again. I am currently working on Angela and Greg's pics. I will be picking up Rosangla and Gerhard's from the photofinishers tomorrow. I will keep you updated as to who is next and so on.

Happy Anniversary Honey!

Today is Omari and I's 10th wedding anniversary. We met back in high school and have been together for going on 17 years. Marriage has been good to us and we have worked through alot of mountains together. I just wanted to take this bit of time to wish my honey a very happy anniversary.
We are doing something fun in celebration on Sunday. I will post a pic or two next week to let you in on it.
We had our first son by the time we had the actual wedding celebration and Omari started his first teaching job the very next day - therefore we didn't go on a honeymoon. I have been determined for the last 10 years that we would go on a cruise for our 10th anniversary to make up for the lack of the honeymoon. So, later this year we will be doing it! Yeah! I am so excited, the tickets are booked and the plans are now made.
Tomorrow we have wedding plans, Sunday along with my fun family time, I'll be doing an e-session. I think we will be putting together a garage sale for next weekend as this is the only weekend this summer that we actually have off and the kids are anxious to sell some of their stuff to make some money for a basketball hoop.

Jamie & Mac

This past Saturday we had the privledge of spending the day with a beautiful, young couple and their families. Jamie and Mac were alot of fun to work with and I believe we obtained alot of great photos for them. We actually had taken soo many photos that part way through the reception I had to sit down and do some in-camera editing because we were running out of memory to work with (we carry 22 GB of memory!!). This family was the first to show me the "screeching-in" of the groom. It was fun to watch Mac go through the hoops his new family put before him and he happily kissed his bride after kissing the fish right on the lips. I wish Jamie and Mac a very happy future together. Thank you both for inviting us to share in your happiness for a day. I look forward to getting together with you to view your photos.

Of course I have made a small slideshow for friends and family to preview a few of my favorite photos from the event....check them out....Jamie and Mac's Slideshow....

Angela & Greg

Yesterday I had the privledge to be included in a very small wedding ceremony. This couple broke my small wedding record of 8 present by having only the 2 of them involved. I enjoyed documenting the love they have for eachother and feel really honored to have been chosen to photograph them. What a cute couple they were and very open to doing a bunch of pictures at West Edmonton Mall where they were married. It was alot of fun tromping around finding new ideas and listening to what interested them. Next we went and explored the Muttart Conservatory grounds. We were able to get some fabulous photos there. Angela and Greg were in town so they decided to come in and choose their photos today. Yeah they are quick! I got the slideshow made up before they arrived so they got their peak already, but as I promised I also am adding it online for friends and family to check out. Hope you enjoy it.

Tonight I meet with Thalat and Alasdair to choose their photos. Tomorrow we are off to another wedding. Praying for some nice weather!!

Here it is...

I picked a couple of my favorite images for you to see here on the blog from Dianne and Adam's wedding. It was a picture perfect day with blue sky and puffy clouds :) Below is a pic of the two little flowergirls holding hands. They were so adorable.

Here is the link to the sneak peak slide show...Dianne and Adam...

The Calgary seminar was really good and I learned a few new tricks and tips. I enjoyed conversing with many of the Albertan photographers that were there and made a few new friends.

This afternoon I am off to shoot another little wedding...

Saturday

We spent this past Saturday with Dianne and Adam. They had a very beautiful wedding where Dianne showed off her floral arranging talents with an abundance of flowers. I have had a chance to look through the 1000 pics we took for them but haven't been able to compile their sneak peak slideshow yet. I will get on it when I get back from Calgary.
I have 2 weddings this week - one small intimate one and one larger one. It is a very busy week with the kids finishing school as well. I should be in bed but just had to finish up a few computer based jobs before I head off in the morning.

Thalat & Alasdair...

This past weekend we had the opportunity to join a wonderful couple celebrating their love in a ceremony at the Hotel MacDonald. It was an off and on rainy day but we ended up with decent weather for our photos. It was an emotional ceremony with alot of happy tears, even the J.P. had a few :) Thalat looked amazing in her dress trimmed with red and Aladair was very dapper in his kilt. It was a bit chilly when we went outside at first but after we got going with our pictures it seemed to warm up a bit. I love a bunch of their photos, they are such a cute couple. It was at the last minute that Thalat decided she would brave laying on the piano and to my surprise when I asked Alasdair to sit down to pretend to play - he didn't need to pretend at all! He played us a great little piece while we snapped away, with some great results. We are honored to be involved in such a blessed affair, thank you for including us.

There is an additional Sneak Peak slideshow available if you would like to see some more of the wedding....Thalat and Alasdair's Slideshow....

My close friends all know that I have a horrible memory for names. Embarrassingly enough there are many times that I forget the names of the couple that we are shooting - with Thalat though I memorized a wrong pronounciation so when I was corrected I still didn't get it right cause I had spent so much time memorizing it wrong! After a bunch of appologizing I gave up and tried to get around the first names. So sorry in advance to anyone else I may do this to, I am forwarning you here. I do love each and everyone one of you but I even get my long time friends names wrong or forgotten too!

Teresa & Murray

Saturday we had a great time with a couple that we met awhile ago. Teresa and Murray are best friends with Paul and Charlene (pictured to the left)- we photographed Paul and Charlene's wedding awhile ago. It was neat to spend time with the whole group for a second time :) The funniest part of the day, in my opinion, was when Murray and Teresa knelt down at the alter. Unbeknownst to Murray, his groomsmen had written a message on the bottom of his shoes. The audience was great because they giggled just a little over it and it didn't even tip the couple off at all. You'll have to view the slideshow to see the pics. Teresa and Murray were married at the same beautiful church just off Whyte ave and we went to the Muttart grounds for their "formals". We found a car show going on when we arrived and decided to ask if we could get a few pictures incorporating the cars and the owners were happy to oblige us. The boys in the party were very happy to have this little distraction added to our day. Our only real issues for the day were fixed with a few stitches. The party went along great - everyone was very impressed with the custom designed cupcakes! Teresa and Murray, thank you for inviting us to share in your love. It was an honor to photograph the both of you, your such a cute couple!

Here is the link to the sneak peak slideshow....Teresa & Murray

I am finished with retouching Candace and Ray's wedding. I will be getting the photos tomorrow and packaging everything up to go. I know Candace is VERY excited to recieve her pics.

I have the APEGGA scrapbook due this week so I am working on that full swing as well.

One last thing...Omari and I were counting them up and we have now booked 79 weddings since I opened my company!! That is sooo exciting. I have decided that I am going to give a very special bonus to our 100th booking. This couple who books will not know they are number 100 until the contract is signed - just so no one can cheat their way into this special. I have decided that I will be making the final 50% payment for them, whatever the size of their package!! I'm sure we're going to make one lucky couple very happy in the near future...only 21 more bookings to go...I'll keep everyone updated on the blog every few months about where we are at (but not when we're down to the final 5). Omari figures it will be happening at a booking sometime next year, I'm not sure so I will not give a prediction.

Pam & Todd...

Congratulations to this past weekends lovely couple. They are off on their honeymoon but I promised to put up a sneak peak slideshow for all of their friends and family to see. The little town of Millet is where we visited for the ceremony. We had a gorgeous day to work with and we ended off with a light shower (which is good luck on a wedding day)...this made for a variety of photo opps. Some of my favorites have been done in the rain. We did end up having to do a quick clean up on the train of the dress afterward because of tromping down a gravel road which ended up getting a bit muddy...thank goodness once again for my easy going bride - who didn't mind running to the washroom with me for a quick rinse after we were done!! I just love the couples I work with - so far everyone I have met has been so fabulous to photograph. Thank you Pam and Todd for including us in your wedding plans. It was an honor to be a part of your passion for one another! I look forward to hearing about your trip when you get back.

Here is the link for the slideshow - I have given up on figuring out how to put the show on this blog - Pam & Todd's Slideshow. Enjoy!!

P.S. there may be some free viewing software that you have to download to view the show.

Great weather!

I am soo enjoying this wonderful weather we are getting. My bride for this weekend told me she ordered in straight from the big guy and it seems he got to filling that order in a big way. Realistically I am praying, myself, for a bit of cloud - it just gives the sky more interest in the pics :)
I went for a walk around Beaumaris Lake yesterday to get some exercise without going to the gym - it was just too nice to be stuck indoors. It was refreshing to have 75% of the people walking by say good morning. How friendly folks are when the sun is shining and they are enjoying nature. Once again I thought about how I would love to do some pics at this lake, there are some great little nooks around it that just call out for some photographing.
I have finished retouching Kim and Geoff's wedding pics and they are now in at the lab. Along with getting this APEGGA scrapbook done I will start up on Candace and Ray's pics.
Oh yeah, I wanted to give a little plug for Candace and Ray as they own http://www.carsgone.com - the fun way I heard about it was at their reception when the mc for the evening had decided that he needed to insert a minimum for 4 shameless plugs. It was all in good humor and everyone had to laugh when he threw the web name into his speeches.

another way to communicate...

Ok so I have now been inducted into the facebook community. It is starting to take over! Whenever my eyes get tired of retouching instead of walking away from the computer I check out whats new in the spacebook. I have hooked up with some really long lost friends which has been cool. I have even started up a Creationsphoto group within spacebook as well. So if you are a member, come on and join in! I look forward to seeing you online.

Rosangela and Gerhard

Another beautiful wedding. Rosangela and Gerhard had a intimate ceremony with family and a few friends at their home. As I always say, every wedding has it's own story. Sometimes funny, sometimes not, or rather isn't funny at the time and you may laugh about it years later as you remember :) Well, they only had one little mishap that I knew of - we were missing the marriage certificate - made it a little stressful for a bit but luckily our couple was easy going enough to shrug it off and go on with our photos. With everyone involved agreeing to get together and do the signing when it was possible, we continued on. I sure hope they found it when they got back to their search later. We had a wonderful time documenting their passion for one another at the Citadel Theatre. Thank you so much for including us in your day. I'm sure you will have an excellent honeymoon! One day I will get to Egypt too!

Here is a sneek peak of your wedding photos... Rosangela & Gerhard.

It was a nice relaxing long weekend. We spent alot of time at home just hanging out with our boys at home. Although I didn't seem to get alot done, except going through the wedding photos and creating the slideshow...well some laundry too...

Next weekend we don't have a wedding on the books, but we will be getting together with my family to celebrate "family day". A little party we do yearly with my parents to celebrate their wedding anniversary - although it isn't usually on the right day.

Candace and Raymond...

What a wonderful weekend. I was very happy for the nice weather!

Candace and Raymond were married this past Saturday in a beautiful little ceremony out on a farm. They kept it special by getting married on a giant rock. The luncheon afterward put us a little behind schedule but we had fun creating some wonderful photos! The party was great and the Aunties in the crowd really could dance up a storm. I thank the both of you for sharing your love with us and including us in your special day. It was an honor to work with the both of you! They are sooo excited to see their photos (Candace is a scrapbooker too :) ) that we are meeting tomorrow to go through the pics.

I have put a few of my favorites here for you to see. I also have made a little slideshow with a bunch more.... Candace and Raymond ... again, you may need to download some free software from photodex to view the show...

It's Friday

I am running my last scrapbook workshop tonight. It is a bittersweet occasion as the decision to let it go was hard to make. I will never let go of scrapbooking - be sure of that! Just the task of running the workshop (aka crop). After 3 years I am getting tired of persuing people to join in. I had started with the hope that a group of people would come together naturally but this never seemed to take place. The Church on 99 crop has been a great place to get some work done in a friendly atmosphere and I have always enjoyed meeting the people (men and women) that have attended. I do look forward to attending other scrapbook events run by other people in the future - probably after wedding season at this point.
I am praying for a beautiful day tomorrow as we have a country wedding to photograph. I am looking forward to romping down a dirt road and finding a field to frolick in :) weather permitting of course. This is Alberta so you just never know how it will be!
Kim and Geoff stopped in last night and viewed their photos. It was a pleasure meeting with them again. I will get at the retouching soon for that event.
It is that time again and I am currently working on the APPEGA presidents scrapbook. This is a fun task that I have taken on for the past 2 years. I enjoy putting their year in presidency into a scrapbook - each one a bit different from the others.
Have a good weekend!

Scrapbooking

I had a great National Scrapbook Day on Saturday with 6 new and old friends. Our lovely hostess didn't even realize that she had planned this little get together on a significant day! Here I thought that is why she did. It was a chuckle for all of us.
I finished up a display scrapbook that I was working on, so I felt quite accomplished. There was some great food (it was potluck), great company and great ideas going around. We got totally chocolated out with the chocolate fountain one lady brought, YUM! I look forward to next year....
I am hosting my last scrapbook workshop this Friday. If you'd like to join us at the Church on 99 please give me a quick email at contact@creationsphoto.com. The crop runs from 6pm to midnight with no cost just a request to bring a snack to share. I always bring some pop and bottled water to share.
We will be shooting another wedding on Saturday. I look forward to doing a few country shots with this one. I'll make sure I post some of my favorite wedding photos next week.
